Accuracy of a test after the "wait" time

As some of you read last night I was having some crazy MF going on and was waiting until Fri to test partly to wait it out and partly because that's my b/day.  Well after your wonderful posts and thoughts I decided to go ahead and POAS this morning well the test I took says to wait 5 min before reading results I couldn't wait that long, read it at 2 min it was neg and then put it in the foil and left it on the counter.  I reread it before getting in the shower around 4 this afternoon and there was a faint line even DH could see it. . .

It is a pink dye test

And I am wondering could it be an evap line?  I am planning to retest in the morning but I want to know if you ladies think I am going to be looking at a bfp or prepare myself for a bfn?

  • Ummm even after the "WAIT" time, I'd test again. Since I love to pee on more things than an untrained puppy, I'd go for it again tonight. LOL That's just me.

  • If it's past the time limit then it's not reliable answer. That being said I had the same thing happen when I found out I was pg with Aidan.

  • I think it might be a waiting game right now.  My BFPs have shown up a little after the wait time.  Test again tomorrow.  Good luck!

  • Retest with FMU, but I would be prepped for a BFN.
  • I know that the official answer is that the result is no good after the set wait time, BUT, for my last pregnancy I had about 5 post-wait time BFPs that I thought must be evap lines before I finally got a digital BFP.  If the line is actually pink and not gray I think I might feel good about it.  Good luck!
