We are flying cross country in a couple of weeks to visit grandma and grandpa. The will most likely be able to borrow a stroller and car seat for our visit if we ask. What I'm wondering is, would it be easier to carry our 2 month old around in our 2in1 Jeep carrier or lug around the carseat and stroller? We have one layover on the way there and one on the way back.
Re: Airport: carrier vs stroller/carseat
Don't forget that you need a carseat for getting to/from the airport anyway (unless someone is dropping you off/picking you up). We did several flights ranging from half an hour to four hours when DD was 7-9 weeks. Took the stroller, carseat, and base since we didn't have them at our destinations.
We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and it's so big/heavy. I wish we had gotten a Snap n Go to use as the stroller part when we were traveling. The stroller got beat up when we gate-checked it on our first flight, so we bought a stroller bag for the other flights. Then the airline ripped the stroller bag! Not sure what they do to the items that they gate-check (run over them a couple times with the plane, maybe?), but they aren't treating them well, that's for sure.
