1x per Month Cleaning Service?

Does anyone use a cleaning service once a month only? I'm considering having someone come 1x per month to do the "major" chores (mopping, cleaning the bathtub, etc.) I just feel like with DD we are falling behind on that stuff. But, DH thinks 1x per month isn't going to make any difference and that we should just save the money and do it ourselves. We can't really afford to have someone come more often than that. I think the 1x will help, but he may be right that the place will still get so dirty in between the visits that it's not worth the $ to have someone come that infrequently. What do you think - is it worth it?

    I would do it in a heartbeat if I could.  Don't know if you are planning on more kids, but it you think it's hard with one........I want another, don't know what we'll do!  I think we will break down and get a 1x month.  I just can't mop with both of them around.....I try to gate off areas, but it takes forever and we all end up getting frustrated.  I don't feel like doing it at 8:30 after they are in bed.  I try to do the heavy cleaning on w/e, but I swear, every weekend we have so much going on now that the weather is nice, it's not getting done on weekends.  So yeah, I say it WILL make a difference even just 1x month, go for it!!!!!

    We just got someone to come every other week and it is the best money we spend IMO. We don't have to spend all weekend inside or with a filthy house. I just couldn't stay on top of it. Price it out and see what is in your area. I found mine on my local board and I think it is very reasonably priced. 2 SAHM's who do it for money on the side, so it is a win-win.

    we do it once a month and it is a REAL help, esp with the bathroom and other things i dont have time/think of to clean.

    You'll still have to clean in between but even freeing up one weekend would be worth it.  I also found it easier to clean in between there visits for some reason.

    We do this. They are coming today - THANK GOD!

    We still have to clean up a little around the house but for them to deep clean the bathrooms and dust all the blinds it is so helpful! It does make a huge difference for us.

    I have had this for almost a year now and it helps out tremendously. I still dust and vacumn as needed and clean out the tub but feel so much better knowing a good deep cleaning is done once per month. That is the best money spent each month.

    We started this last month so I don't have much experience. They are coming again tomorrow. I loved it. It's hard enough to keep up with the basics. I feel like we never got around to the deep stuff. We actually did a great job of keeping everything cleaned up until the last week & a half b/c DD got sick. But I'm still motivated to start over & see how well we do next month.

    1x a month is better than nothing! I really felt so great about myself & the house for almost 3 weeks. It was weird!
