I told my cousin and his wife that we are expecting triplets.
His wife looked at me, laughed, smerked, and said, "Well...you wanted it!"
How about a "HOLY CRAP! CONGRATULATIONS!"
*eyeroll*
Then today I got my first "What the heck are you going to do?!" and "That's the problem with those IVF things"
First, I did want it and I will NEVER apologize or make an excuse for my blessings!
Second, I'm going to do what any other mother would do. I'm going to love and take care of my babies the best way I know how.
Lastly, that's not the problem with 'those' things...It's the BLESSING!!
Sorry..vent over..just so annoyed with people!!
10-8-12: Grant is born!! Now a family of 5!
2-3-12: Totally unexpected BFP!!

I will never understand why people say some of the things they do.
And - Congrats! You have not one, but three of something many women would kill for. I don't know how anyone could see that as something other than an excuse to celebrate! And vent all you need...you have three times the excuse! lol

Those types of comments would be annoying! I just popped over here to look and see if you heard the third heart beat, and looking in your siggy I see that you did. That's so exciting! Congrats again!

Those comments would have driven me crazy!! I think I would have had to go off on them.
With all these hormones that we have going through us with being pregnant, I am surprised you didn't say something back to put them in their place. Or have you?! I would love to hear what you said back if you did

I've tried to keep it light and let their ignorance not bring me down.
To my cousin's wife I simply (but kindly) said, "Yes..we did want it and couldn't be more excited"
To the "What are you going to do?!" comment I said, "I'm going to do what I need to do...be their mother. I never had 1 baby, so 3 will be all i know"
And to the "Thats the problem with those ivf things" I said, "We are just very excited and feel so blessed."

I really wish people would just STFU when it comes to IVF if they have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Makes me livid

Complete lurking from 3rd tri. Had to butt in. I'm a twin and when my mom was preg with me and my sister she would get loads of stupid comments like "did you want 2" and "how are you going to handle it". She had the best responses. She would say to the how are you going to handle it group :"God only gives them to people who can handle it" and to the other people what are we going to do return one!".
GL and Congratulations. Your are exactly right if 3 is all you know it is easier than 1 and then multiples. (At least thats what mom said)

I got some stupid comments when people found out we were preg with baby#2 since baby#1 was only 7 months old at the time. It's like people can't grasp the concept that we WANT our kids to be this close in age. I agree with the filter idea!
CONGRATULATIONS on your babies! That's SO exciting! Multiples will be demanding, I'm sure, but they'll be so fun! you get 3x the love, joy, laughs, everything! Just curious- are babies A&B identical? Looks like maybe they are sharing an amniotic sac...? Maybe it's just an illusion? Either way, congrats! And go ahead and throat punch- you're allowed to when you're preg, that's my rule, anyway....

diagnosed with heterozygous Factor V Leiden 2008; m/c 11/09 @ 5 1/2 wks; m/c 5/10 @ 4 1/2 wks; RLP testing done, diagnosed with antiphospholipid syn. and low progesterone; 7/10 started on Heparin injections & progesterone supps @ 3 dpo, BFP 8/9/10!!!
