girls who have diarrhea!

Since a few days before my BFP I've had morning diarrhea and today I had it again after I ate dinner..I'm starting to think this is my bodies form of morning sickness :)

Anyway, are you eating or drinking something to help with it?  Should I be drinking Gatorade or something?  I'm gonna call the Dr and ask tomorrow but I'm assuming just getting extra fluids is all I can do right?

  • Good to know!  Thanks
  • I know exactly how you feel.  I had the "Big D" from week 4 - 6.  Then it stopped and now I'm just nauseous 24/7.  This is my morning sickness, because the same thing happened with my first pregnancy.  No vomiting...just diarrhea & nausea.  When I had the Big D, I ate small amounts of rice & bananas...not too much because then you'll just be constipated, and that sucks too.  And I drank lots of gatorade too.

     Good Luck!!!

  • I'm not quite at that point, but I'm definitely "loose" if you know what I mean. I'm just trying to eat healthy stuff and drink a lot of water. I think it's my body's form of MS. I wake up feeling really nervous/jittery in my stomach, and then head to the bathroom. It usually happens 2-3 times a day. Not fun, but way better than vomiting, IMO.

  • Bananas are your new friend, eat at least one a day and it should help a bit.

This is not true. Gatorade can hardly be considered a high sodium food.  There's 110 mg per serving, which is minimal considering goal intake for a day is around 2400 mg.  Pregnant women don't need any more sodium restriction than anyone else, unless you already had high blood pressure to begin with, or if you have pre-eclampsia (which wouldn't happen until later on).

OP- drink the gatorade if you want.  Unless it's really watery and frequent, , you're probably ok to just drink water.

  • BRAT diet: Bananas Rice AppleSauce and Toast.  Should lessen the big D.  I have IBS and colitis, my dr. recommended this to help as an alternate to taking meds all the time.
  • Thanks girls...time to load up on the bananna's!  I eat a pretty high fiber diet and have been eating mostly salads the last week so I'm sure that's not helping.
  • Oh my goodness, the diarrhea is horrible! One day I go from diarrhea and then a couple days later constipation! It's crazy. I spend more time sitting on the toilet than anything else during the day!

I'm so glad I found this post. As everyone is talking about constipation I was getting worried because my BFP seemed to throw my colon into hyperdrive.
