Diapers leaking out top

My boy sleeps on his side and at night we have a problem with leaking at the top - he will have a wet spot on the side he is sleeping on at about teh waist band.  Anyone have this problem?  HELP

    are you making sure to point his penis down when you change his diaper? DS has only peed out the top when we forgot to do it

    do you make sure he's pointed downward? we used to have this issue until someone told me to make sure to point him downward...we've been fine since!

    Well there you go.  I have never pointed the penis anywhere.  I just put the diaper on.  Am I clueless? :)

    if you're just having the issue now I'd say you're more lucky than clueless, LOL

    we had a couple moments when DS soaked his top and had his entire bottom dry when he was a newborn.. I learned about the "penis down" trick real fast!!

    you'd think our DH's would be the first to tell us, but they don't know about it either lol

    I hope for you that it is a positioning problem, but this would happen to us for a long while even when we did point DS's penis down! Going up a size in diapers may help since you'll get more absorbency with the bigger size. That's what helped us! (Our DS sleeps on his side too.)
