Did your LO's two top teeth cause them to...

...wake up crying turned into screaming during the middle of the night? My dd has been doing this for over a week. She'll be 11 months old this week and the two front top teeth are about to break through (hopefully). So, I'm hoping this is the only reason she's waking like this. Before, she was sleeping from 7:30ish 'til 6am before eating and then going back to sleep until 8:30ish.

    B's top 2 are coming in now but he doesn't scream at night.  He is waking more frequently and crying though.

    DS wakes up screaming sometimes, we think it's nightmares because it's pretty random (eg not linked to his teething). When his top teeth were coming in he would wake up a little more often overnight but didn't scream, just regular crying.

    If he wakes screaming I go in to sooth him because he sounds terrified! If he's just grumping/fussing I let him try to get himself back to sleep.

    The past few nights I have been giving generic motrin and nursing him.  He goes right back down.  We give him 5 to 10 minutes of crying or fussing before going in.  If he's going to go back to sleep by himself he'll do it in that time frame.

    My DD woke up about 4 or 5 times last night, we think, due to teething.  We fed her the first time she woke up, the other times we just went in and soothed her.  Her last time, I brought her into bed with us.  I have put orajel on her gums too occassionally.
