if you know about your shower

in 2nd Trimester

I know when my shower is, and a handful of people know it's not a surprise. My mom and I were talking about it today and can't decide if I should be there to greet people when they get there or show up afterwards? It seems kind of silly for them to yell surprise, when I've know about it the whole time.

    I will be at mine from the start to help my mom set up and cook. Mostly because I just got married not even a year ago, and I feel bad she has to do this all again so soon!!

    Why would they yell surprise? You shuold be there to greet people, just like as if it were your bridal shower.

    I don't get the whole surprise baby shower thing...it's a nice thought I guess but given my propensity to sniss, etc., I really hope nobody tries it on me. Plus it takes a lot of effort for me to look cute these days, def. don't walk around looking fit to be fawned over by my friends and family!

    I pulled the ohhhhhhhh I'm sooooooooooo surprised at my bridal shower, my MOH swore she had me fooled, so I felt bad not playing along. I think I'll probably just be there to greet people.

    I think you're supposed to get there right at the start time.  That way, hopefully everyone will already be there.  But people do things however they want.  I will probably come right on time.

    Be there early to greet people, it doesent sound like a surprise or you wouldnt have been talking about it. Everyone is coming for you, so get there early and have that extra time with your guests.

    Yeah I know about mine for sure. My mother-in-law is hosting, but my mom and sister were supposed to be organizing. Unfortunately my MIL has weird hangups about calling my mom, so I have to be the go-between. Also, she is supposed to be doing the invitations and I'm probably going to have to help her, since she's just weirdly recalcitrant about a lot of this stuff. She claims to really want to host, but she's being a huge pain in the butt about getting things done (I hear this from my mom, lol). It's in a month and the invitations just got ordered...

    I know about my shower and I plan on getting there early so I can green people as they show up.  That way I'll be able to talk to everyone and won't feel cramped for time at the end.

    I've never been to a surprise shower... I don't think they are done very often around here.

     I'll be at my shower from the beginning to greet people.

    I don't understand surprise showers either... But man would I be surprised if people started showing up at my house to bring me presents!!  I'd let them in!  haha
