3rd Trimester

Sibling gifts? What to get?

I have two older children - boy: 9 1/2 and a girl: 6

I want to get them each a little gift bag to give them when they come to the hospital to visit me (I am having a csection so will be there a few days), but have no idea what to put in them!

I am thinking silly bandz (if I can find them anywhere!), maybe a book or two, lip gloss and fingernail polish for my DD, but anyone else have any ideas?  I thought about getting some candy that they are never allowed to have and stick in there...like all the sour patch kids junk...

  • You're kiddos are older, so I'm not sure!  Your ideas sounds great though =)

We're getting DS a few cars, books, and a soccer goal!

I'm not sure since they are older, but your gift bags sound good. When my little sister was born my mom got me a baby doll so we could take care of our babies together. I still have it and my mom always jokes that my baby stayed cute and small while hers grew up, gave her hell and then joined the army.

I literally LOLed.  Thanks for the laugh...I needed it this morning!

  • Random double post...sorry.
  • I was 3 when my brother was born. I still vividly remember walking into the hospital room with my Dad and seeing my mom holding a bundle and telling me that my baby brother got me something. It was Raisinets lol! They gave them to my in a little plastic medicine cup. Its my earliest memory and I just remember thinking that it was so cool I got chocolate!

  • i dont know cuz yours are older, but i do know those rubber bands are getting popular.  my causin in PA is sending me out to get some for her this weekend.

i was told to make it seem like the gift is from LO.  like it came outta your vag with LO.  so my vag will also be giving birth to a leap frog TAG.  its going to hurt, but i think im ready.

  • I haven't thought of this yet but sounds like you have great ideas. My 4 1/2 year old is obsessed with silly bandz too.:)

Maybe you can get your daughter a coloring book and ask her to color a page for the baby for when he gets home, it will help her make the time go by faster.

Candy sounds good too  :) (you actually made me crave sour patches right now-lol)

  • My daughter is 8 1/2 and I found a pendent that says big sister then found a chain to put the pendant on and some nice ear rings and put them all together like it came that way. I have it in my hospital bag so that it doesn't get forgotten but I am having a c section so I want to give it to her as soon as I see her.
