Ugh, I just paid out the wazoo to get one shipped from Ireland like a month ago! I didn't see this seller when I was looking- have they just started carrying BBSlens? I might get myself a blackberry grey though... I've been eyeing it and thinking about it for awhile now!

Not sure - i think they have had them for a while. They carry some toys, etc. made by the same company. I actually found them looking for toys and noticed they carry Babalonia (BB Slen) carriers too.

I'm sure you could easily sell the other half (or even a ring sling piece if you want a bit longer shortie) on FSOT - I sold a RS piece of turkish delight in about half an hour before!

Yes, it's be long enough for a RUB- a 5.6 halved, once you account for BBSlen's shrinkage and hemming, would be at least a 2.6, probably a smidge longer.
ETA: I'm an English teacher. One would think I could write a sentence that did not include "it's be". Oy vey.
The nice thing about a RUB is it only goes over baby and your shoulders- the 2.6 length works for almost everyone b/c it doesn't have to go around a body.
6's are the length I use for my long wraps, and with practice, I'm sure I can master the RUB and shorties. If not, there's always FSOT... lol
Damn you, ncbelle! I'm going to have to get one on the sly. I've been wanting a BBslen forever, but I didn't want to pay for shipping to AU. I'm going to have this one shipped to the rents in Wisconsin and have them bring it to me when they meet us in Europe next month. It will be a little surprise for DH! LOL.

Is the BBslen a nice summer wrap? I love carrying DD but its only May and it is getting so hot to carry her in her moby.
I know the nicer woven wraps are more expensive but 75 is a lot less than 130
Actually, BBslen isn't any less 'nice' than the more expensive wraps at all. The difference between BBslens and expensive Didys are that most of the expensive Didys are limited editions, so more expensive. They also sometimes come in different blends (silk and cotton, linen and cotton, wool and cotton, etc) which also drive the price up.
BBslens are all cotton (so are a lot of Didys, for that matter) and so they are very easy to take care of. Just throw them in the washer and dryer for the most part. They have an AWESOME reputation, and the fact that they are less expensive than some wraps is just a plus...they are just as good (if not better) in a lot of ways. I don't actually own one yet, but this is what I've found from reading TBW like a madwoman over the past months
I've heard they are really great summer wraps, as well as good toddler wraps, since they tend to be wider than other brands. A lot of people LOVE them for a good summer shorty. But if you haven't wrapped yet, I wouldn't start with a shorty...I'd go with the 4.6 length first.

I wouldn't start with a shorty- I've been wrapping for months and am just now ready to try one out. They have more of a learning curve than a longer length, I think. They're also fairly limited in what carries you can do (basically, just a RUB or rebozo). I think every wrapper needs 3 wraps- A shorty, a mid-sized wrap (for a Kangaroo carry and RTIF), and a long wrap for carries like a double hammock and FWCC.
Okay, you've totally piqued my interest. I've been trying to stay away from a woven -- but now I really really want one.Therefore, I don't know too much about them.... so I've heard double hammock is a super comfy back carry. I'm 5'3" and 99lbs -- I'm narrow. What size would you suggest?

Yes, BBSlens are pretty lightweight. Not as thin at a Vat, but still quite comfy for summer, especially in a single layer carry.
I would say with your build, the 460cm size would be your best bet. BBSlens shrink a bit when you wash them, so it would shrink closer to a 4.1. I started out with a DIY wrap, but quickly gave in to the call of the woven- IMO, I'd just get an actual woven, b/c you're likely to wind up spending the $ on it anyway down the line.
The 490cm is what's on sale... Would that be too long?

It would probably be a bit on the long side- you can always just wrap the tails around you once more, but if you're going for cooler, that's not going to help. lol You could also chop it. It's still cheaper to get the longer length than to go with the length you need.
If you are doing more than a single layer would be too hot?
In the summers it gets into the 90s here
My apologizes to all for being such an enabler ;-) They are great wraps though. I hope everyone who decides to gets one likes it (and if you don't, you should have no trouble selling it at this price!).
I think they are fine for summer - not as thin as a Vatanai but I don't think any warmer than another carrier options. The solids are thinner than the stripes by a bit.

I have been looking at the vatanai`s and did like that one you just posted the other day but as they weren`t going to ready until July thats already a bit later than I hoped, will have to look at other sites, most of the ones I have looked at have listed most of them as sold out.
I went ahead and got the 4.9 turkish delight, hopefully it will work out well for us for the summer, if not it will work in the cooler weather for sure.
