Do BH ever turn into real labor?

I've been having BH for the 2 days...my OB noticed them during my NST too. They are about 5-10 minutes apart and have been for quite some time (a day probably )..any chance they could turn into real labor?! Or any way I can help them progress :-) (By BH, I mean when your whole stomach is rock hard for a 30-60 seconds, then releases)

Re: Do BH ever turn into real labor?

  • Girl I hope so! I have been having BH for the past two days and within the past hour they are not starting to feel good. Hopefully this is the real thing! I am sending some real contraction dust to you. :)

  • I could be wrong, I'm no med expert, but my understanding of BH is that they are real contractions.  The difference is BH do not progress the baby along or open your cervix like regular contractions.

Sending you both lots of labor dust!!!

  • Hopefully yours will turn into active labor contractions. I had BH for 2 days, tried walking to try to help them along and nothing :( but, you're further along than me! GL sending buckets of labor dust your way!
  • That's how it started for me but, I had bh all the time with ds and I have them all the time with this LO.  When I went into early labor with ds I thought I was just having bh again b/c I was so used to them but, then they go really painful and more intense.
