Sucking changes?

Is there a change in LO's sucking when the milk comes in?  She was latching and sucking hard before but the last few feedings she seems to be sucking longer but much less hard.  I also can't get her to latch without a shield now that my breasts are bigger and even then she sometimes struggles.  Is that normal?

    Yes, before your milk comes in you have a small amount of colostrum and they have to work to get it out.  All of that sucking also stimulates your supply and once your milk comes in, they don't have to work nearly as hard.  For trouble latching now that your breasts are more full, you can try hand expressing a bit so LO can get a better latch.
