so i have an old top loader - the cycles have the little symbols and i think i know which one means 'soak' but i know that plenty of you folks do soaks at the beginning of your diaper wash. i realize that i could start the wash, wait till it's full, then stop the cycle to let it soak and then restart when it was done, but i'm guessing this wouldn't allow me to do a hot wash because the water would cool off in the meantime.
so if you want to just make the washer do one piece of a cycle - if you can recognize the soak icon for example, if you just turn it to that icon and start it, will the washer fill up with water? can you start mid-cycle like that? the washer/dryer came with the condo when we purchased and i don't know that we have the user manuals or anything unfortunately.
thoughts?
Re: how do you do a soak in your washer

this only my new washer doesn't run water until you close the lid.... i HATE that!! so i just let it run for a few minutes then open the lid and let it soak, or i'll just pull the button so that it stops the machine.
sometimes i let it soak overnight, sometimes just a few hours or less. and sometimes i use soap and sometimes not. just depends on how many poop diapers are in there lol.
Yup, I soak w/out detergent. I only do it when the dipes seem extra stinky. I always run a whole cold wash cycle as my first rinse, switch it over to hot, add detergent and run that full cycle. I soak anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours.
