need help w/dr. brown's formula mixing pitcher

how do i lock the locking ring on the spiral post?  the directions are no help. thanks.

    I think it is adjustable so you have to fix it so that it goes all the way to the bottom so it mixes properly. I am probably not explaining this properly lol.

    aren't there notches in the blue ring that the spiral thing slips into.  Then you turn the ring to keep it in place.  Kind of like the lid to the pitcher.

    I threw the blue ring away and I don't use it...  I really don't need it and I got tired of it falling off.

    Blue ring did jack squat for me.  I just was careful... and now that I'm making 6 of the 6oz bottles a day anyway I can go without anyway.
