TTC After a Loss

1st period after m/c...A question.

So this is a really silly question =/ sorry lol! And no I'm not charting yet or anything, and I know everyone/every cycle is different but....I was curious if this has happened to anyone else... =)

I miscarried exactly 5 weeks ago yesterday. So I was surprised/happy when I got my period yesterday...well I'm hoping it's a normal period. But it's like brown spotting mixed with some red, so not a normal period really yet...its almost exactly like weird spotting I had after the m/c

And also my boobs do not hurt AT ALL...which yes should be a good thing, but they always hurt on my period, I mean you could punch them and it wouldn't hurt at all...?

SO anyway...lol...I feel stupid for posting this..but I'm hoping this is totally normal, and that I'm still having a normal "period"..I'm sure my body is just trying to get back to normal?? But if it's not a period then I don't know why I would be spotting to begin with...I need to stop talking now.

Can anyone relate??

Thanks girls =)

  • Before my loss, my boobs would always hurt right before my period would start. Since the loss they don't hurt anymore, it kinda stinks because it was a warning that af was on her way.

  • First I'm so sorry for your loss.

Second, yes - I can relate!  Nothing has been totally normal as far as my cycle is concerned since our m/c.  Your body has been through a trauma, so don't expect it to be back to what you recall as normal immediately.  I think it's good though that you are paying attention to the details so you know what's going on with your body.  I just started charting last weekend because my cycles have been odd since the m/c.  Hopefully this will help make more sense of them.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks girls...wow I am glad to hear this is normal =)

I was starting to think this isnt even a period...maybe spotting in between or something!

And I am sorry for both or your losses as well =( hugs!xo

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I can relate to things being different after your m/c; I would say to just be thankful it didn't take too long and hopefully things are back to working how they should be. I can also relate to the post-beers lack-of-clarity! Are you cleared to start ttc again after AF? If so, good luck!
  • Hi - how have you been doing?

My periods (just had my 2nd one after m/c) are completely different than prior.  AF use to be 6 full days with cramps and heavy bleeding.  I use to be able to tell when she would be about to show too - cramps and my boobs would hurt for about a week.

Now, my periods are about 2-3 days, very light and no cramps.  My boobs don't hurt at all and can't tell when she's arriving.  I thought it wasn't a period either, but sounds like the m/c can change everything.

  • Orangecrush9! Yes we're totally cleared! so....Im drinking just tonight and I'm still taking my prenatals and everything.. =)

My doctor is actually so chill (don't know if thats a good thing or not) that he said if I got pg before my first period came "if it happens it happens" haha...but yeah we didnt "try" this month.

  • Arath1...I remember you =)..Im great! how are you? I'm sorry for your loss =(

It's weird how different a m/c can make things...but I'm glad you all have had similar things happen, now i'm not worried =)....but having the cramps and sore boobs was  always a good sign for AF...oh well...lol, i hate cramps

  • Hello and sorry for your loss.

That definitely sounds like AF to me. The timing is right and I think most people find their period is different after a m/c.

    Good luck with TTC!
