After our party last night our neighbors commented that we seemed to have a lot of kids here. ? Our friends have 4 and another due any day, so they are like an instant party anyway. ?I said this to my neighbors and she was like "Oh my, that is a lot of kids, I would lose my mind." ?They have 3, so it was funny to hear her say that 4 was a lot. ?So at what point do you personally consider a person having "a lot" of kids??

We would like 3. ?But honsetly, seeing how well our friends do 4, and #5 will be no different I'm sure, it makes me think we could have 4. ?I have never thought this before. ?DH says no way.
I think 5 or more is when I think to myself "wow that is a lot of kids".
I have a friend that has NINE (two sets of twins, the youngest are 7 month twins, and the oldest is 14)! ?All planned, all loved, all extremely well taken care of. ?She amazes me, and so do her kids, they are all so well behaved. ?Her house is always clean, and it seems busy, but not chaotic. This does not make me want that many though. ?
?
Well I don't think 4 is a lot. We want to have 4 kids, but maybe once we have one or two we may think differently. My mother is one of 9, now that I think is a lot!
Its?definitely?relative. ?In our?circle, most ?people have three. ?I know that two is the national average, but it seems like such a small family to me, and one that we don't see too often. ?Yet, I think three is that much different!
5+ is a lot to me. Many of my friends growing up and cousins came from families with 4 kids, so it's pretty normal to me. Although, I would never dream of having 4 of my own.
9/2010: First visit to RE = CD3 b/w (normal); CD7 ultrasound (normal); DH's SA (normal but morph wasn't analyzed, so doc ordered a 2nd SA); Prog. supplements starting 3dpo for all future cycles

I'll go with having 4 or more as a lot although I don't honestly see many families these days with more than 2. SIL has triplets but that wasn't much of a choice. We've leaned towards 3 and discussed 4. We'd both love to have a big family but I think anything more than 4 would just be too much for us.

Not if you have a live-in nanny actually taking care of them!!?
Hahahaha, true. :-)
She did it by herself for a year before that though. Both her and her husband have very demanding full time job and the kids were 1, 3, 4, 7 and 8 at that time. The baby stayed with her MIL and the other kids went to the private school she worked at. I don't know how she did it before I came, I was impressed.
6+.
I'd love 5 but it'll never happen.

When you have to buy special vehicles to fit the whole family then you have a lot of kids.
