TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

I think it's weird that this grosses me out so much

I am totally grossed out when my dog licks himself.  Strangely, watching him lick himself doesn't bother me.  And it's not where he licks himself that bothers me.  It's the sound.  I hate it!  And the longer I hear it the yuckier it is.  He doesn't do it excessively or anything.  Just run-of-the-mill cleaning/grooming/maintenance.  But it gives me the willies!  I wish I could get him to do that in another room.

I also don't love the sound of a toddler sucking on a pacifier.  It's not as bad as the dog licking, but it's up there.

I know it's not normal.  Do you have anything that's harmless and normal but you hate to hear/ see/ feel?

  • Oh, I'm with you on both accounts.

    :)

Also, other people chewing.  Unbelieveable.  It's a personal quirk and drives me insane.  As I admitted here once before, I once left a guy for it.

  • Chewing, crunching, smacking, and just people eating in general makes me want to puke. I can't stand those noises.

  • I am TOTALLY with you on the dog licking thing, totally grosses me out!!!!  The worst is when I walk in the room and theres the cat, paws over it's head cleaning out it's a@@!!!    I swear it does it on purpose.............jkg!!!
  • I. HATE. the. licking.

I feel so bad, but I quite frequently tell my dog to leave the room when he's doing it.

I feel exactly the same way, and for the same reason.

I let Scout get away with it for a few minutes before I have to stop her. She's learned to go in the other room if she wants peace.

  • My dog is trained to go in the other room as well..............As soon as I hear the licking I snap my fingers and he finishes his business elsewhere!!   LOL
