Who else's hubbies are DEAF?

Every other day, we have at least 1 repeat conversation. The other day, I showed him the new sponges I got to clean the dishes and told him the good deal I got on them. Today, he says "oh, where did you get this new sponge at??" I laugh, and tell him...again. No more than 5 minutes later, he asks "Do you wanna feed Mina and put her to bed now?"

I tell him "no, it's only 7:30, and she ate at 5:30."

"Well, it's been 2 1/2 hours. What time is it?" Indifferent

I JUST TOLD YOU IT'S 7:30, SHE ATE 2 HOURS AGO!!!!!!!!

"Oh, I thought it was 8."

That's it!!! I give up talking. It's useless!  Tongue Tied

Unfortunately my DH is actually hearing impared so I can't get too mad at him when he doesn't hear me. However most of the time I think he hears me just fine and just doesn't pay attention!

  • I was going to meet my hubby for lunch today and while we were trying to figure out what to have for lunch, I told him we were having enchiladas for dinner so no Mexican food.  We are eating lunch and he asks what's for dinner.  Do you not listen?  Well, I know he doesn't.  He's admitted that to me.
  • I am the deaf one. When my husband would tell me he would be away with his band, I would ALWAYS forget, and get mad at him when he would pull out his suitcase. Then yesterday I totally forgot he was leaving for two nights on business. LOL!

  • I don't think DH is deaf so much as he is completely unable to multitask.  For example, he actually has to drop everything and sit down in order to have a conversation with someone on the phone.  So, if I'm talking to him and he's doing something else, I know we're going to end up having a repeat conversation about the same topic later.
  • yes, he doesn't listen and asks me the same question a zillion times. yet he remembers obscure details about movies, bands he likes, etc... its selective hearing and remembering.

  • I was feeding LO the other day and he spit up so I asked DH to grab me a bib. No reply- so I ask again. (he is in the kitchen which is by the living room, but we were both by the adjoining door so he was not far from me.) He then walks into the living room and goes over to the computer desk to check his phone. I asked him again to grab me a bib and he looked at me, smiled, then went to grab one. I asked him why he didn't respond the first two times and he said "I thought you were just talking to Lucas about your necklace" (as he was grabbing onto it)! Talk about selective hearing! It makes me wonder what else he doesn't actually listen to.
