So there's this dong bag in my office whose wife is pg with #4 (unplanned, at least by him). Every time he can't make a meeting, he sends an email to everyone on the meeting notice that he's got an appointment to look at their 'bebe'. And he misses at least one thing a week, so it's pretty annoying.
I've worked here about 6 weeks. At a meeting a couple weeks ago (before anyone else was in the room) he asked if I had kids. When I say 'no', he asked if we wanted kids and I said 'yes'. He just made a face and me as if to ask why. I said 'well, we're having some trouble. I guess it's not an automatic for us.' He shut up. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt after this, but the emails are putting me over the edge.
Vent over.
ETA: And he and his wife both plan to take 12 weeks off when the baby is born. About half of his work will fall on me.
Re: Annoying Co-worker
ugh, i hate that. I'm starting to realize that the question "Do you have kids?" is the most annoying and rude thing ever to be asked.
Love the term dong bag, that's awesome!
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
So she has an u/s every single week? Yeah right.
I think I've found what's worse than an FH-- a DH that uses his FH of a wife's pregnancy to get out of work AND draw attention to himself.
I am SO sorry that you have to deal with that! I am glad you made him shut up and feel awkward.
Harper Oksana, born on her due date, January 20, 2011, and the love of my life
Yeah, we're going to have to come up with a term for that, other than dong bag, even though that fits too.
Last week they both took a day off, drove an hour and half to pay for an ultrasound to find out the sex because they didn't want to wait 5 more days to find out at their OB's office.
Whatever, I'm just tired of hearing about a baby he supposedly didn't even want.
