So, I guess the ILs finally realized that there was no chance in hell of us going 1hr45min away for mothers day.

My mom decided that everyone would come here on Saturday. She asked what I would like to eat, I told her, and now MIL is deciding shes making something different. Something I have no interest in eating. And, they're inviting DH's granparents. Fine, they haven't seen the babies yet. But, they're going to expect to spend the night and have breakfast and what have you provided. They are in for a rude awakening. Also, I want no one here on Sunday. For Mother's day, all I want is to deal with no one. DH's grandparents have a tendency to linger so I have a feeling I'll be hanging out upstairs with the babes on Sunday just so I dont have to deal with anyone.

I know this sounds petty, but I don't much care. I'm sure the crapass night of sleep last night isn't helping things

My DH's family is like this. Why can't they take the babies's needs, and yours into account? People are just stupid.

I understand your frustration. Is there any way thatyou could make your wishes be known to DHs family? Maybe even DH can express to them, especially the grandparents, that this visit will have to be a short one. They (DHs family) will just have to understand that your focus has changed to the babies and you can't play hostess for days at a time.

doesn't sound petty at all. You've got two 4 week old babies. You're entitled to not have to deal with IL crap for Mothers' Day.

They should come Saturday and leave. If what you want for your first Mother's Day is to spend time with your husband and babies, that's what you should get. I'm sorry they are pushing in.
