Update: liquid meds recalled

Walgreens will take them back :)

Also, my guess is that they will run store-brand coupons in the Sunday ad this week,

  • CVS took an opened bottle of infant motrin and gave me a full refund.

Even if you didn't purchase it there?

I felt like it was so wasteful for me to throw out half-full bottles of Motrin and Tylenol.

  • I did purchase it there.  I just sat it on the counter and said, "So I bought this here a week ago and now it has been recalled.  Can I return it and buy the CVS version?"  They didn't even act like anything was weird about it.

I guess it's worth a shot anyway - my guess is that "corporate" would authorize exchanges without a receipt in situations like this, right? No biggie if not, I guess.

  • Just saw this...

What should I do if I purchased these products and currently have them in my medicine cabinet?
*Do NOT return recalled product(s) to retail stores.
*McNeil is offering 2 options for consumers who have purchased products affected by this recall: You can receive either a refund for the average retail price of the product or a coupon for a free replacement (s) when the product becomes available again. Click here to request a refund or high value coupon (Note: If you have more than 6 affected products, you will be required to complete 2 forms)
*To process your refund or coupon you will need the NDC number and Lot number from the product that has been recalled. The NDC number can be found above the brand name on the label of the bottle. The Lot number can also be found on the label and is usually placed vertically on the label.

  • Thanks for posting.  I'm going to try tomorrow.  I have a feeling M is getting the starts of an ear infection from her cold, and we would be in soooo much trouble if her fever spiked again.  I'm so nervous about another febrile seizure!  I hope they still have the store brand...

  • Thanks Shauna - I should have just gone to the site from the get-go.

Of *course* the one day she needs some meds (HepB shot, slight fever, fussy) and we don't have any in the house, and then CVS wouldn't exchange it for me.

No biggie - I bought some CVS brand for the time being and will do the online request.

    Thanks!
