Toddlers tubing?

Have you ever seen toddlers (2-1/2 year old) tubing?  Is there some sort of contraption to make it safer?

TIA

Re: Toddlers tubing?

  • Yes I have seen it. I've seen them in some little tubes that are like a life jacket. It is sort of all one piece. I am not 100% sure where you would find them though.

  • Like, on the Guadalupe or something? I've never seen it - I've only seen people using tubes like that in pools. I can't imagine that it would be safe on a river with the unpredictability of currents and all.
  • I saw them at places like Schlitterbahn but not on the river proper.
  • my DH runs Rockin R on the comal and I've been taking DS tubing since he was about 3. They have to be over a certain again and I would suggest depending on how old your child is to put them in a tube with a bottom have them sit all the way down and put their legs straight in the tube when going through the chutes...on the comal you can walk around the 1st chute but not the 2nd and 3rd. Put your feet under their arms and have them hold on to your feet. That's how we've always done it and how our friends do it and of course they always wear a life jacket. You child would have to be I believe 7 to go down the Guadalupe
