She sat up by herself!

I didn't think this would happen until much later, but today DD got herself into a seated position from her tummy.  She pulled her legs under her stomach, then stuck them out, and then sat up.  Did it while playing.  Then just half an hour ago she was crying in her crib and DH went up to check on her.  She was sitting up against the crib side.  He moved that mattress down immediately ...

I don't know why, but I think this is my favorite milestone so far!

    hehe...me too.  That's why I asked.

    I have no idea which one usually comes first but Lillian was able to sit up on her own way before she could crawl.

    Its so exciting. The bad part that I have realized is that dd is always sitting up in her crib and than plays when she should be sleeping.
