Does your kid wear clothes around the house

So I see all these posts about how moms are getting their kids up and dressed for the day and I think, hmmm my kid is currently sitting around stark naked and does most days.  Pants last until he has to pee and then off they come and he doesn't want to put them back on most of the time and what do I care if he's naked so that's how he spends the day.

We have a rule that company=clothes and it's never an issue, and leaving the house = getting dressed and it's not a struggle so I figured if he wants to be free so be it.

So am I the only one and the rest of you are giving me the big side eye while you read thisEmbarrassed

  • C wears clothes at all times.  He spends very little time even in just a diaper or naked.  He doesn't complain so I dress him.

I can say that my nephew, who is now 5, spent a ton of time in just a diaper or naked or running around in his underwear.  He hated, and still hates, clothes.  He has since he was a  wee one.  He wouldn't ever wear a jacket and hates pants even.  So he wears shorts year round.  My brother and his wife have the same rules -- if you are outside in the front yard or we have guests, clothes are a must.  Otherwise, have at it.

  • When we are around the house Z is in a onesie and the same rule applies, if we have guest or go outside the house we dress her.  I let her be comfortable and to be honest if she makes a mess of herself while eating it is easier (and less laundry) to clean up a onsie than a whole outfit.  Besides, I like to keep the cute outfits for when we are out.

My soon to be 5 year old cousin is the same as PP.  He LOVES to be naked.  However, he does fuss about the rules.  When he visits at my parents house my dad gets so embarassed with the nakeyness as my cousin loves to prance around their yard in his birthday suit.

This is so funny.  I figure that around 3 I'm going to start working on cloths all the time. I don't want him to be 10 and still stripping all the timeSurprise.  The most embarrassing is when they are playing in the front and he just whips it out to pee in front of the entire neighborhood, again cute at 2 but he can only get away with that for so long.

  • Sometimes we dress sometimes not. He loves to be nekkid and with potty training it's just easier to plop him down :)

  • The two of us spend most of the day in pajamas.  I don't get into real clothes until I'm ready to grab the mail and he usually stays in pajamas unless we're planning to go to the park or if the pajamas were footed and too warm to stay in.

  • Both of my kids are dressed daily.  M-F they are in daycare so of course they have to be dressed, but on weekends we dress them in the morning.

Sarah is always dressed, most of the time in one-piece sleep'n'play outfits with feet which she also wears at night. It would be too cold without clothes in our house.

  • Nope!!  She refuses to wear clothes at home and won't even wear PJs to bed anymore.  One time she even stripped down to her diaper at a friend's house.  She will get dressed if we go out or to school.  She does have some sensory issues so that has a little to do with it.

  • Funny, I always dress the baby and myself in the morning. I hate sitting around in my pjs, I have to shower to wake up. I guess I always dress the baby because I am afraid she will be cold. It's also just part of the routine. I also give her a bath at night and put on her pajamas. She hates getting dressed though, so maybe I should try the naked thing.
