Hi everyone! I was just wondering if there were any other plus sized pregnant women on here? This is my first pregnancy (well, I had two previous miscarriages) and i am 18 weeks. I think i have felt the baby but im not sure if it is that or gas pains some women talk about. When i think i feel a tiny kick, it feeling seems to be up higher than where i think the baby would actuallybe. Also, of course, being plus sized...i was wondering when i might actually look pregnant!

Re: any plus sized pregnancy women on here?
Me! If you dont mind me asking what was your PP size? I was an 18-20 and at 20wks am about a 22 (comfortably) and I look pregnant. I have been feeling the baby move but not as much as when I was pregnant with DS ( I was a size 10) but enough to notice it your LO might not be active during the day. This one is not... its all at night
I was a 16-18 PP. To be honest, last week I was in the check-out lane talking to the lady in front of me (she apparently ran a daycare) and as she was leaving the checker asked how old my baby was...so I said - actually I'm 6 months pregnant and they both looked at me like I was crazy, and agreed I didn't look pregnant. It hurt my feelings and made me feel, well, fat. I have days I look pregnant, and days I don't. But, I have to remind myself that I know what's going on in there, and I have a beautiful healthy baby girl growing, no matter what I look like.
As for feeling kicks. I felt them sporadically at 17-18ish weeks. It wasn't until 22 weeks that I felt them regularly. You'll know a kick from gas when you feel it!
WOW! How strange! Our due dates are the exact same day! I was a 22 before pregnancy. i didnt buy any new pants but cant wear the 22's anymore. i just went ahead and started wearing the maternity pants. Is it strange thought that i feel what seems like tiny kicks up higher than where the baby probably is?
All my movement is below or around my belly button. Where is the movement hitting you? Thats so funny I didnt even notice that
Yay for september!
I was anywhere from a 12-18 PP. I had a tummy-tuck last aug. so sizes are a bit off for me, but I am comfortably a 16-18 now. Because of the tummy-tuck I think I look pregnant, but I am still fairly flat (and wear a lot of black!) so only a few people have mentioned it. I will actually get people who ask "why have you gained so much weight" (I work for the public and the comments I get are literally SHOCKING at times.) It is frusterating (I honestly was 125 pounds this time last year...and gained all my weight PP) I wish I looked more pregnant, but fact is you can't diet now, so I guess I will wait until after my LO decides to come!
I have been getting very nervous the past few days because I have not felt anything (to the point that I was up ALL night Saturday thinking something was wrong!) I am so glad to hear other plus-size gals felt the baby later...
The movements feel like they are above my belly button so i dont know if that is the baby or not. I dont know what else it could possibly be.
I was a 14-16 PP...now I can only wear my preg. jeans and most of reg. shirts/tops. I am 'top heavy' so I am used to wearing tops to accomodate my large boobs. :P
As far as feeling the baby, with DD and LO I felt kicks around 18-20 weeks...
hey there!!
i'm a plus sized momma to be... pp i was an 18 now i'm about a 22-24....but honestly, the bigger the shirts, the more comfortable i feel...i've bought a lot of nice tunics at lane bryant and have had luck with maternity pants at both old navy and target...
i will be 24 weeks on wednesday and have felt the most movement in the last couple of weeks....i can def. feel her, but i'm afraid that my hubby won't get the chance too!! to much fluff!! i personally don't think i look prego, however people i work with, family, and of course my hubby can see the bump!! i'm sad that i feel like i will be missing out on actually seeing the baby move on the inside from the outside!! but, i guess as long as i can feel it, that's good enough for me!!
have a great day ladies!!
^^/ Plus sized! 20 pre-pregnancy, I don't even know, now. lol
I have a bit of fluff around my stomach (most of my weight tends to go to my hips and thighs, tho) so I thought I wouldn't have a very noticeable bump, either. But one day coming out of the shower, I think it was around 18 or 19 weeks, I caught a sidelong glance of myself in the mirror and was like, "What is this!" It was almost like the bump had just decided to pop overnight, it was the oddest thing lol
Soon after that my prepregnancy jeans just weren't fitting anymore and my tummy has made itself more pronounced than just being fluffy. Granted I do have some padding so I look farther along than I really am, but there's a noticeable difference now to the relative shape. Been watching my weight very closely and am right on target as it is now - I actually lost 11 lbs during my first tri from some terrible, terrible morning sickness - so I'm hoping that the growth spurt I felt was from baby and not from that Dunkin Donuts gift certificate I got
RE: kicking, I'm pretty sure I felt the first kicks about week 18 or thereabouts as well, but once they come more regularly you'll know it for sure
Good luck!
I was 16PP and have felt flutters since 15w but not consistently until 18w now I can feel kicks.
I think it too depends on what I wear. I feel like I have rounded out and my B-belly is subsiding into a D-ish shape. I think I am showing a bit but I could just look fat
Before I was pregnant i was a size 16/18 on bottom and wore just a regular size large in tops. I've always had a fairly small waist but with big hips/thighs/boobs. A little unproportional... but I showed really early. This is my first baby and I looked noticibly pregnant at 16 weeks. I have almost no torso though, so that could also be why I showed earlier.
I was a 22/24 pp and am still wearing my prepregnancy clothes at 16 weeks, but I lost 9lbs first trimester. I don't think I look pregnant at all, but hubby says he is starting to notice a change.
As for movement, I just started to feel a few flutters in the last couple days, can't wait until I can feel the kicks and the movements are more consistent! You will definately know a kick when you feel it, flutters are a little harder to decifer, especially being plus size! This is my 3rd plus size pregnancy, although I've gotten a little bigger with each one..lol...and each one has been different as far as the timing of these events! Good Luck to you and your LO!
