Aww. That's harsh.  J/k- my girl name is #9.  Elizabeth.  :(

For me-  Brayden, Lindsay, Alexis, Justin, Dustin

  • Harlow, Harper, Brynlee (or Brenlee or whatever kind of other spellings come up), Stone (I know a brother/sister pair named River and Stone), Maverick Cash.

Prawnlee. Khoast. Any names with an outrageous amount of y's or e's.

  • Any names that can be given the nn Katie or the name Katie itself-->When me and Dh were dating we took a break for about 6 months and he dated a girl named Katie and i just hate the girl and hate the name :)

The name Jessica-->Past issues with a bunch of different Jessica's

Older names that are being brought back that when i hear them i cant help but think of an elderly person. Examples: Susan, Harry, Katherine, Francis..etc.

Names that are obviously made up and spelled horribly.

The name Flora--> Just reminds me of a flower shop

  • Keeley (names like this make my skin crawl), Ellie, Emma (or any variations thereof), place names (Brooklyn, Dallas, London, Paris, Austin...any of the like). That's all I can think of at the moment.

  • Can't stand the name Kaylee in any form.  Too cutesy to move into adulthood.  I also am so over all of the Brayden, Aiden, Cayden, etc.

I feel the same about Amy for that reason - now a bad name, but a terrible association.

  • I don't like what I call the "white bread" names like Chase, Landon, a lot of the names that end in "en" like Aiden.

Another name I've been seeing a lot of lately that I doon't like is Declan. Don't like it at all.

Also, any names that are spelled in a non-traditional way.

  • Penelope, Keely, Finnigan, Gideon, Gunner pew pew! Ryder, Braxton, Paxton and Xander

Aiden, Tristan, Keely/Kylee/Kaylee, Brinley, Bailey/Baylee, McKenna, Maya, Maisy, Sienna, Sierra, Madison, Addison, Abigail, Jayden

PP mentioned hating Oscar.  Oscar is one of my top favorite boy names (it was my grandfather's name).  I love it- I really hope I can convince DH to go for it.  Also love Harper, which someone else mentioned hating.  I love seeing what makes other people gag!

Forgot to add that on my previous post.. I just do not see how people like it. I know it is not made up or anything..just sounds so strange. NMS at all!!

  • Most popular girls names like Abigail, Aubrey, Olivia, Madison (I love Madeline, but do not like Maddie as a nickname at all), anything ending in -ana, etc. I'm not a fan of names like that at all but I do have a few exceptions (Emma, Ava, and Lily come to mind)

Not a fan of really old man names for boys (one exception being Henry), don't mind the -en/on/an trend though.

And yeah, unique spellings (especially on a name that I already dislike - example: abbagayle) are horrible too.

Haha me too. This is DD's name and 9 times out of 10 if I see someone say they don't like the name, their kid has a name that I don't like (or their name taste is totally opposite mine). Not a bad thing, I like that not everyone likes the same names - makes for variety, I suppose :)

  • Kendall, Madeline, Abigail /Abby, Addy, Olivia,  MacKenzie, MicKayla (No idea how it's spelled), Lila/Leila, Sophie/-a and: LILY, I HATE this name!
  • Cash, Archer,Sawyer,All the Braydon Aiden names..Camden, Cameron,Brooks,Gunner,Brice, Blake

    Brooklyn, Paris, Georgia, Hazel, Fiona,Maisy,Harper

All Youneek spellings and boy names for girls(unless it is a nn)

  • I wouldn't say there are any names that make me want to barf, but if one more person suggests Olivia for our DD, I might scream.  I am a teacher and have had a few too many Olivias.  I get that it sounds cute to some people with Owen, but still!  There are also ex-bf names that wouldn't cut it.

  • Great post btw...

I also dislike any of the "Kaylee/Kylie" names, and anything in the top 10.

  • Hate the name Rory. I just think it is weird.

I dont like the cutsie Kylie. Kaylee. Callie... blah blah

I had a family I used to do home visits with..all the kids had biblical names. Which is nice if thats what you like. Until they had their 6th child. They named him Thor. LOL Makes me think of the Adventures in Babysitting movie where the lil girl wanted to be Thor. :)

  • Inexplicably, because there is nothing wrong with the names, Riley and Chloe - I think it's 'L' sounds give me the heebee-jeebees.

Anyway, Khloe (what is with the h?), Maddox, Emersyn, Colby, Jayden...there are a bunch more I just can't think of them.

  • Callum- I just find it werid to pronounce.

Grier- sounds like I'm barfing just saying it.

    Most boy names on girls.

Most names with a y somewhere in the middle (Kaylee, Brayden, etc.).

  • Madison, Addison, Braydon
  • Bailey, and names that are names of places, anything with a unnecessary y, spelled uniquely, or anything trendy (like Harper).
  • MoFreeMoFree member

Henry, any of the -en named (Braden, Jaden, Kaden).

Kennedy, Mac names (Makenna, Mackenzie, etc), Tiffany, Savannah, River, Ocean. Brooklyn, London, Paris and other place names (and Charlotte is not a place name, it was named after Princess Charlotte).  I also hate boy names for girls, especially those ending in -son.

  • Old lady names like Hazel, Beatrice, Lucille, Lillian, Mabel, etc.

The spelling Aiden. The popularity of a misspelled name astounds me.

  • Trevor, Dustin, and Kacey

  • Oh goodness! There are so many! Just off the top of my head-

Savannah, Kaylee ( all spellings), Kylie, pretty much anyting that ends in an "e" sound. I am also over the popular names- Ava, Madison, Aiden, Jayden.

    Any form of Caitlyn.

And the most hated is Isabella particularly Bella.  Partly due to twilight, but I've hated it for years.

Sorry, I just don't like the sound of it. But that's why I didn't name my son that - you may not like my son's name! Hope I didn't offend you.

  • Thats ok, just wondering. Not offended at all. Just never heard anyone say they hated it.

  • Oliver!  And I realize this name seems to be somewhat popular on the bump but I just can't stand it for some reason.  And i've heard woman complain about how people will call their little boy "Ol-ee-ver" (like the song in the musical) and they can't stand it.....I would've expected that if I chose that name.

Oh, and Cameron- but only because I'm a teacher and every single Cameron (boy or girl) that i've ever had has been a total nightmare!!!!!!!!!
