TTC After a Loss

TTCAL Book Club.... READ ME!

Ok ladies.... Our first meeting in tomorrow... I am still working on finishing the book... I hope I will make it.... Anyways... I want to post a clicky poll to pick our next book... So give me your ideas!  As a side note... I am learning that many of the books that are out involve a loss or pregnancy... I am not sure if we will be able to avoid this...So... just a heads up.

See you at 9pm eastern tomorrow... If I don't finish I will still post!

Re: TTCAL Book Club.... READ ME!

  • i've actually really been wanting to read "the help" i know michorocc (think i butchered that, sorry!) just read it and gave us a heads up about a loss..but it's on my list.

i'm a huge fan of jodi picoult and haven't read a lot of hers.

haven't read any of the newest nicholas sparks

my mom just gave me suggestion of "accidental mother" by rowan coleman. it's about a woman who gets custody of her god-daughters or neices or something...not 100%. but when she described it, it sounded good.

    that's my thoughts :)

  • I read "The last song" by N. Sparks before I started this one and it was great.  I wouldnt mind if that was a choice.

I am still wrapping up The Friday Night Knitting Club, but I will post anyway even if I dont finish- I hope I will make it, about 80 pgs left!

The Last Song was great.  It was one of my favorites from N. Sparks.

  • Water for Elephants was a really good book and I wouldn't mind reading it again.  My Sister's Keeper is on my to read list.  Mennonite in a Black Dress looks cool and is also on my list, mostly because DH grew up Amish and I grew up a version of Mennonite.

  • I'm so excited for tomorrow.  Here are couple of new ideas:

Anita Shreive:  A wedding in December
Garth Stein:  The art of dancing in the rain (I've been wanting to read this one - it's on my list)
    Kristin Hannah:  Firefly lane

  • I'm such a book club fail.  I haven't managed to get ANY of it read for tomorrow.  Sigh.  Maybe next time!

I'll totally support the suggestions of anything by Jodi Picoult.  The Plain Truth, My Sister's Keeper,  and Handle with Care all might be a bit rougher to read as they deal with having babies in various ways.  Handle with Care especially so.

Mercy and The Pact were both excellent reads.  Heck, I've not read anything of hers that didn't knock my brain for a loop in a good way.

She is soooo my favorite author.  Handle With Care and House Rules are the only two I haven't read, but I'd be down for a re-read.

Jane Green books are fun.  I haven't read a bunch of hers, but the 3 or so I did read were good.

  • I think you already have The Help.  Another I'd like to read, and picked out at the store is Barefoot.  Sounds really good.
