Trying to Get Pregnant

back from the doctor....

and in some serious tears...

Thank God that I demanded an U/S.  He has now diagnosed me with slight PCOS.  He said that I have alot of healthy looking eggs, but can see small signs of PCOS( even though I have no other symptoms).

I don't know why I am so upset.  Can't stop crying (maybe it's the Clomid). Sad  I just didn't know that we were going to run into trouble TCC (who does?).  My insurance doesn't cover any IF so once we reach our 6th cycle of Clomid (supplemented with Metformin, starting next cycle) we are stuck.

and now I have to work all day with beet red eyes.  Guess I will be partaking in some extra strong vodka tonics tonight.

Pity Party vent over.

  • I am so sorry Sad. PCOS is never a good diagnosis, but maybe you'll be one of those people that respond really well to the Metformin, and your cycles will return?

Keep some immodium on hand when you do start the Met, it causes some major tummy upset for most, my first weekend was hell, but it's much better now. I know the frustration of no IF coverage. Being in Canada our testing and monitoring are covered by the province, but our drugs are all OOP since our Ins doesn't cover them.

It's a lot to take in all at once, hopefully you'll feel better once you and DH have had some time to digest everything.

Thanks!  I had heard that Met messes with your stomach which I am not looking forward to.  I know that it can take a while to get in your system.  I am trying to figure out if I want to go ahead and start taking it now (on CD13, I have heard that you can start it whenever) so that it will start working.

Our TTC journey is so similar.

  • Hey sweetie, I'm so very sorry for your diagnosis. I was dx'd with PCOS this past Tuesday, and I didn't take the news very well either. ((hugs))

Try to stay positive. If they saw only small signs of PCOS, then maybe it's only a mild case, and the metformin will work it's magic on you.

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but my mother had undiagnosed PCOS at the time that she was TTC my brother and I, and I'm here, and so is my brother, so that's promising! Try to keep your chin up, it's not hopeless, it's just a bit more of a pain in the ass for us!!

If you ever need to chat, feel free to PM.

Again, I'm sorry, nothing like that is ever easy to take in.

  • Sorry sorry Kel. :( ::gives Kelli a huge bear hug::

I'm always here for you if you want to talk about it. Praying for you!
