Nail clipping, hair brushing, ear cleaning.......

we just don't do these now until they are like 3, right? lol

Because, he won't sit still at all anymore! When I brush his hair after bath, his hands go right up and mess it up. Nail clipping is pretty hard when the hand/foot NEVER stops moving too!

It actually cracks me up.....the boy is very busy and has no time for personal hygiene! =)

  • Usually I sing while I clip Justin's nails and hold him in a hug from behind, he's really patient. His hair is a curly mop so I don't even brush it- just wash and then a quick finger comb. Cleaning his ears is a disaster for us. His neck/ears are super ticklish so anytime I get near them he giggles and squirms and moves away. I cringe when the Dr. looks in there b/c I know it's NEVER super clean.

  • I do the nail clipping and ear cleaning while she is nursing.  During the bedtime one because she is sleepy and doesn't move her hands as much, or during the first morning one because she is hungry and focused.  The ear isn't bad, but I can usually only get a couple fingers done at a time.  I don't know what we will do once she stops nursing, haha.

I smooth her hair with my hand as needed.  She doesn't have enough hair really to brush.  We have 2 brushes though and sometimes I let her play with one while I brush quick with the other.  It is fun for her because she hardly ever sees the brush.

3?  My almost 3 year old is no better for these than my almost 10 month old!

  • You can do anything to Evan when he is having his pre-bed bottle of milk...another reason I am dragging my feet with getting rid of it!!! He would never have a new diaper! : )

I've never brushed his hair. I just sweep it to the side with my fingers. I do ears in the tub - just a quick little swipe with a washcloth over my finger (he moves too much for a q-tip)

  • I think we have cut Eve's toenails like twice.. ever.. They never seem to grow.. maybe my MIL does it without telling us.. but I actually don't think she would do that.. Her finger nails have needed to be cut for about a week now and I just dread it..
