Very faint +OPK

Okay, so I have never gotten a positive OPK before. It is very faint. I still put it in as a positive on FF, right? Also, should I do two OPK's tomorrow, one in the am and one in the pm, in case I have a short LP surge, which I always assumed I did? I'm shocked! I'm actually ovulating??!!

Is the test line as dark or darker than the control line? If not, then unfortunately it's negative. Hopefully you're catching the beginning of your surge though and it will be positive tomorrow. Or you could try testing again tonight to see if it's positive. GL.

I'm not totally sure I understand- the test line should be as dark as the control line....

And you're testing for LH, not LP

I'm confused, how is it faint? The positive line needs to be equally as dark or darker than the control line. Do they both look the same or is it a little bit lighter?

A faint positive doesn't make sense to me. For an OPK to be positive the test line has to be as dark or darker then the test line. So a faint line doesn't mean anything. You can have a faint line everyday of your cycle, it's only positive when that line gets really dark.

It's not the same as "a line is a line" for HPT. Any line is a positive on a HPT.

Not to shatter your hopes, but you can have a LH surge and NOT ovulate, that's why it's good you're temping too.

This exactly. I'd test tonight and twice tomorrow but I'm always determined to catch my surge.

Okay, thanks girls. I figured "a line is a line" just like with an hpt. Guess I didn't read the directions very well. And sorry, I did mean LH surge. I'm kind of bummed that this may not actually mean I'm O'ing.

It absolutely means you're not O'ing. It's only a positive it the lines are a match or the test line is darker than the control line. In my case (not all) the test line gets darker and darker the closer I get to ovulating. If you're like me, you could be on your way to Oing. GL!

That's what I meant, "I'm bummed it may not mean I'm on my way to O'ing." I hope it means the same for me as you...that I'm getting closer! I've never even had a faint line before so you can understand my excitement.

I remember my first + opk. I had my husband come home twice from work for some lovin! It's exciting.

It probably means you are on your way to O'ing. I think you should test again in the morning and if it's not positive then try again tomorrow afternoon. GL with this cycle.
