Was told by a nurse to start little one on sippy cup at 6 months with water in it. She said that most of it gets on their clothes anyway, so water is the best choice. She also said it is 6 months because it helps train them for solids, so if you start solids earlier, i suppose 5 months would be fine too, as long as they can hold the cup.
I bought a training bottle from Nuby that has three lids, there is a suction controlled nipple, a no leak sippy, and a no-leak straw. It works awesome!
Re: When should our LOs use a cup?
Our pediatrician said to introduce a regular cup with a little bit of water or breast milk around 5 months. I plan on using these: https://www.amazon.com/Beaba-Toddler-Soft-Cup-Slip-Resistant/dp/B0034JBR7E
