how many nursing pads should i pack?

I'm packing my hospital bag today after I thought I was going into labor this morning. I'm going to be breastfeeding & I need to know how many disposable nursing pads I should pack. I don't know at all if my hospital provides nursing pads but better be safe than sorry!

I would say none. Or one pair at most. I didn't have leaking issues until my milk came in, and by then I was home.

  • I didn't leak until my milk came in 3 days later and I was home.  But I did pack 3 sets and I wore them just for peace of mind and comfort.
  • My milk came in day 1. I soaked through 1 an hour or so. my hospital provided them.

     Ditto for both pregnancies/births.

  • I would bring 2 sets of washable pads, mostly to keep the lanolin from getting all over your nursing bra/tank. I was home when my milk came in,  day 5 with #1, day 3 with #2.

I was going to say none, but that's a good point.
