It does have a lot of organic merchandise but unlike WF most of it is their own brand. We love it. They also do not have the kick ass prepared food section like WF does but they have really good frozen stuff that is great for a quick dinner.
It is more of a 'specialty' store than a full grocery store. They have just a few items of each thing, usually store brand. Trader Joe's contracts for exceptional products from companies (often organic or gourmet) and then puts their own label on it.
They have great frozen food (prepared meals, meats, veggies, etc) as well as snacks.
I suggest the first time you go you just browse and pick out a few things... and in no time it can become your regular shopping spot!
I live 2 hours away from one right now and miss it terribly.
Love Trader Joes! Not as big or as great as Whole Foods but much, much cheaper and they do have a lot of similiar things. Lots of organic produce but not all as high quality as Whole Foods. They have really good packaged meals - chicken breast with tortellini and sun dried tomatoes, lobster ravioli, great vaccum packed marinated fish. Great cheap wines. Amazing desserts. You will love it!

Tarah you will love TJ's! Whole Foods is gigantic compared to most TJ's but the prices at TJ's are amazing! The frozen foods section has some great stuff. Their wine selection is pretty awesome. They have off the beaten path wines that are great and very inexpensive. They have the mainstream stuff too but most people I know like to go there and buy the different wines that are a bargain just to try them out.

TJs is actually my closest grocery store so I am there several times a week. I love pretty much everything there but nothing beats the wine selection! I am always stopping in to stock up. Best wine under $10 in town! And I'm not talking Two Buck Chuck(Charles Shaw, 2.99 per bottle) either. Pinot Noirs, Cabs, ext all for around $6-10!!
