Indiana Babies

Ten months :(

Bah, my child is practically a toddler. I know, I know...I'm jumping the gun a little. But damnit, slow DOWN!

We lowered her crib mattress this weekend, and I cried. Day care called yesterday about moving her up to the next age group room. I cried. I put her in a pair of 18-24m pants this morning. I cried (a little).

Waaaaaaah! Crying

I guess I should be excited and happy, but she's been so moody and cranky lately that I'd rather have my smiley 5-month-old back.

  • Happy 10 months Ella!!!  It does go by so fast, but you're getting to the really fun age now.

  • FWIW, there are definitely so many fun things to look forward to in toddlerhood.  It just as much fun as babyhood, but different.  Every day Jake amazes me with something new.  He points out the window and says Dog, woof woof!  (Everything btw, is a dog, rabbits, birds, etc, it just cracks me up).  He feeds himself all the way now, so we have family dinners and all eat together. Yesterday, he started fitting shapes in the shape sorter!   I miss the baby, but I don't have too much time to now a days!!

You're right. Ella is doing new amazing things every day.

This is somewhat unrelated, but still related (huh?)...but I actually think I may have mild PPD. I'm  having a really hard time finding joy in those new things Ella is doing and learning. I'm having a hard time finding joy in anything, actually. I'm considering calling my OB because it's been about a month now and I can't shake it.

Hmmm, I smell a separate post coming...

  • It does go very quickly but Mel is right...this is such a fun age you're entering!  Just wait until you're planning her 2nd birthday and thinking about preschool.  Yikes!!
  • In that pic she looks a little concerned about growng up so fast too =)  I'm with you on the slow-the-eff-down! thing.  Maya is 30 days behind Ella and I swer she should only be a few months old. Not 9!

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time.  If you're really concerned, give your OB a call.  If nothing else it will be fun to catch up, so to speak.  i still kinda miss my OB.

  • Aw, so adorable!!  They grow up so quickly.  Crying
  • Happy 10 months!
  • It's amazing how fast they grow and learn!  I love the crawling stage!

I'm not trying to diagnose you, but based on what you wrote though, it may seem that you could be struggling with some degree of PPD.  I hope your doctor can help if you decide you should call!

  • Happy 10 months Ella!

I'm right there with you about the crying.  T minus 9 days and Tyson will be a toddler.

  • Be excited, it's a great time!  They only get more and more fun.  Sure, you miss the baby stages, but there are SO many great things to look forward to.
