Short napper

Does anyone have a short napper?  I cannot get DS to nap for more than 50 mins at a time.  Is there anything I can do to change this?  He took a 2hr nap over the weekend and it was just heaven!  I wish I knew what caused it!  I would much rather have 2 long naps each day than 4 40-50 minute ones.

    I know what you mean, but I have at least determined my DS' problem.  DS won't take more than a 30-60 minute nap at daycare or in his crib at home. 

    Yet he'll nap for FOUR HOURS in his swing!!!  It's crazy.  He's doesn't even nap that much in total on daycare days.  This weekend we let him nap in his swing because he has a cold and I wanted him to sleep, but one of these days we're going to have to wean him from it.

    I usually get 3 20-60 minute naps during the day. That's it. And he sleeps for 6-8 hours at night after that. When MIL is watching him, he'll have a 2-3 hour nap and he'll sleep like crap that night. I'd prefer the short naps even though it doesn't allow me much time to do anything around the house.

    no advice here because my lo is the exact same way, EXCEPT for when he is in his car seat. ?Today I broke down and let him nap in it, he took 1 2 hour long nap and a 2 1/2 hr one. ?I hope this doesn't mess with him sleeping tonight!

    My DD has been doing this for about 2 months. Just in the last week or two we are starting to get one good nap and a few of the short ones. The only thing we are doing differently is putting her to nap in her room, in her crib, every time. We close the curtains and make it really dark then I tiptoe around the house. I don't know what the change is from, but I'm glad its getting better not worse.

    Mine takes 2 to 3, 30 min naps during the day. The doctor said it was because he sleeps long stretches at night.

    DS sleeps 11 hours at night and then I get 3-4, 45 min naps per day from him.  I do prefer the long night time sleep but would love at least 1 long nap during the day to get some things done for me!

    I have read all of the books and tried all of the recommendations, it worked until he was 2 months old and he stopped napping well.  Sorry I am no help.

     we have this exactly. I've tried everything, but nothing works. But for about a week she's STTN 11 hours so I can't really complain!

    I'd take 4 naps over DS's two 45 minute naps!

    The only way he'll sleep longer is if I'm holding him, and that's just not feasible every day. He sleeps well at night, fortunately, but it's so hard to get anything done during the day when his naps are so short.

    This exactly for me too!  I will admit he still eats once during the night - but from time he goes down til morning is 11 hrs.  But his naps are definitely short!!  I constantly have to keep going back to him and help him go back to sleep during day.

    This is my DD as well. She'll only take 2-3 short catnaps each day but if she falls asleep in her carseat, she'll be out for hours.
