First Holy Communion gift idea?

I'm not Catholic, but was invited to a First Holy Communion party this weekend. What is the typical gift for this sort of thing?

    Similar to baptism gifts -- something engraved, religious jewelry, bible, rosary, or savingsbond/cash (I do twice what I'd give for a birthday).

    If it's a girl, I like to give jewelry, as it is something of a rite of passage and it makes them feel a little grown up.  Do you have James Avery in your area?  They make good jewelry for religious events.

    In our families the gift is usually money but you can give really any gift you like, gift card to a store they like to shop at, jewelry for a girl.

    For a girl...I just got my niece an necklace with a pearl pendant and some matching pearl earrings.  For a boy....I don't know!  My nephews is next month and I have no idea what I am going to get him yet!
