2nd (or more) time mammas...Clicky re: stripping membranes

Dr has offered to strip mine at my next appointment.  I didn't have this done with DD and don't really want to go through the pain of it (knowing contractions will be coming soon anyway) if the process tends not to work.

I have no idea if my answers even make sense, so feel free to add your own special answer to the thread!

    I had it done at 37w4d b/c doc said I was so ready for labor. It SUCKED monkey balls and I don't know if I will do it again. I went into labor at midnight 38w0d. So who knows. I did some lawn mowing, sex having, spicy food eating, and car detailing in that time too. ;)

    I had it done too and it didn't work, but it wasn't that painful for me, so I'd probably do it again.

    I had my membranes stripped 3 TIMES with DS#1, it hurt SO much and I never went into labor. Had an induction at nearly 42 weeks!

    I answered "Other" because I had my membranes stripped twice.  The first time at 40 weeks - nothing.  The second time at 41 weeks, led to a great deal of bleeding that my midwife wasn't comfortable with so she sent me to L&D to be induced right then.  Honestly, I don't know if I'll do it again this time for that reason.

    I had mine done 3 times with DD.  The first two times nothing, the third I delivered the same day.  The moral of the story. The baby will come when it's ready.  I didn't think it was painful, but I have a very high pain tollerance.

    It worked for me, BUT I was 41 weeks and 3 days when I had it done. My MW did it in hopes of avoiding the induction because I had low fluid.

    from what i've read, if your body is ready, it will work.

    I had mine stripped last time at 40w3d when I was 2cm and I was in labor 1 hour later. For me it was a last thing to try before we set up an induction the next week. I would never pick to do it before that point. DC will come when they are ready.
