2nd timers who (gasp) had a shower, did you bring

Your older LO? I can't decide whether to bring DD or not to my sprinkle next weekend. A lot of people will want to see her, but she'll also bug me I'm sure when I'm trying to socialize. However, maybe seeing presents for DS will be good for her. What do you think?

  • I'm not because he'd be a handful.....and uh, I'm going to go with the thought that it's all girls and he's a boy, so he's not allowed.  Yeah, that's it!  (looking for an excuse to leave the house by myself!)

LOL, nothing is wrong with that.

  • I remember going to my mom's shower for my little brother, but I was 6 at the time. If you think she will be a distraction or burden, I'd leave her at home. Stick out tongue
  • Absolutely! But, there isn't much I don't take DD to, especially something "big", I love her being with me and I want her to be involved in stuff, especially things to do with DS.

DH was also there though, so it was a family thing, we don't do showers women only.

  • Yep! Mine was yesterday and it was a surprise so I really didn't know not to bring him. But my sister and cousin brought their kids too so he had a great time. DH, FIL, my dad, and my BIL's were there too so it wasn't just the girls.

  • I did, but I also didn't have a choice.  DH was TDY, and all of my regular sitters were at the shower.

  • I wish i was having another shower Embarrassed

i would bring dd for part of it and then have dh pick her up and bring her home if it is at a restaurant or a place like that, she would probably get bored if she was the only kid around. if there are other kids or at a house or something i would bring her. have fun!

  • I brought DD who is 10 and SD who is 9, but I left my stepsons at home with DH.

  • I took DD and DVD loved if. She was really well behaved, which kind of surprised me. I let her open the presents and she liked seeing everything for her baby brother.

  • Thanks, ladies. I think I'll bring her and just make sure DH will be around to come get her if she is buggin me. It's at my friends house and her DD might be there too.

  • Mine is at my house and is more a co-ed family get together so, yes DS will be there. HTH
  • No way. It was an afternoon to celebrate DC#2 and myself. If it were co-ed like Ds's shower 3 years ago I would have.
  • I will be taking my DD to mine next weekend as well. Besides, both her usual babysitters (grandmothers) will be there.
  • My work is throwing me a shower.  One of the hostess's has been pretty adamant about getting my 4 yr old son a present as well.  So, my hubby and he will drop by part-way into the shower, that way he can open his gift and say his thank you's.  :0)

  • I did... it wasn't a bother for me cause everyone else took care of her so I could enjoy and open presents :)
  • My shower was a surprise and the cover story that got me there was a playdate, so DD was with me.  DH was in on the surprise and he was there as well, so I didn't have to worry about wrangling Hadley by myself.  She had a lot of fun although she and DH left a little early so she could go home for a nap.
  • I left ds at home.  It's your shower, go and fully enjoy yourself with no responsibility.  Mine was a joint shower and my girlfriend's DD who is 3 came at the end but, wasn't there for most of it.  The shower was also at their house so it was a little different.
