Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Is this teething?? AGHHHHH!

Hey everyone. I promised myself that I wouldn't do a post like this, I always just thought that I would always know what was going on with my baby, but here I am!

So I'm pretty sure that Joel is teething, but I'm so super paranoid that I don't want to just assume, and have him be sick or something, so I need opinions please. The last 3 days have been absolute hell! He has been napping okay for the most part during the day, the first day it was only cat naps, but yesterday and today have been good. He is chewing drooling, his cheecks and nose are rosy, no temp. Sometimes when he chews on his toys he will all of a sudden start screaming like he's in pain! He has been pulling at his ear, which is what makes me paranoid, I have taken him to the doc twice before already for ear pulling, and he's never had an ear infection. He also spends a lot of the day crying, and/or fussing for no apparent reason that I can tell

I just was wondering if this sounds like what some of you momma's are going through with teething too? Also when I nurse him he gets upset sometimes. And he won't nurse in the cross cradle position on the right side anymore. I have to football hold him, which isn't so easy with a big baby. lol. Thank you to anyone who got through that. Sorry it's so long, I am rambling, but I haven't slept in 3 days, and I'm kind of fried. lol

  • when you touch his ear does he appear to be in pain?
  • Loading the player...
  • Sounds like teething to me...especially the random screaming.  K has done that with both his teeth.  Same with the ear pulling!
  • It does sound like Lucas...and I think he's teething, too.  Have you tried any teething gel or hyland teething tablets?  Both of those things seem to give my guy some relief when he is really uncomfortable...GL!

  • Just because he has never had an ear infection doesn't mean it isn't one this time...   I would have him checked.

Nope, he doesn't seem to be bothered by ear touching. There isn't anything coming out of his ears either. Neither of my kids have had an ear infection, so I'm kind of clueless as to what to look for.

Yeah, I'm sure I will. lol. I'm so paranoid about him being sick. My daughter was in and out of hospitals for most of her first year, and everytime one of the kids starts looking sick, or doing anything out of the norm.........it takes me back to that. I hate when the kids are sick! I'm sure I take them both to the doctor too much. lol. But I always need the reassurance that they are fine.

  • he's prob just teething but to put ur mind at ease maybe call dr office anyway? it cant hurt to call and no question is stupid when it concerns your little one.

  • Thanks for the responses! I feel much better, I think I'll call, just incase.
