S/O time spent with your significant other

If your SO and you go to a party or get together did you stay together the whole time or do you split up and just kinda catch one another every once in awhile?

DH and I are both pretty independent people and normally when we go to a party or to a friend's house for a get together we will be involved in separate conversations or be in different locations for most of the event. We will occasionally check in with one another, but we don't feel the need to stay together. How about y'all?

    We split up.  I don't want to have girl talk with my DH, and I'm sure he doesn't want me hanging around while him and his guy friends talk about games and sports and whatnot.  I don't think there is anything wrong with that.  We both have pretty strong personalities, so if we don't get a little bit of time either to ourselves or with our friends, things tend to get a bit on the crazy side.

    It depends on the guest list. He has some friends that we visit once a month...the guy is nice...the woman is toxic. I stick like glue to dh at those party's.

    but most of the time it is about 50/50 of together time and apart time

    Stick together for the most part, because the things we go to involve people he works with. I don't know them AT ALL. He tries to get me to become one of the other "wives" but I just don't fit that mold. I'm about 10yrs younger than most of them and can only talk about laundry and playdates for so long.

    DH is a social butterfly and I'm quiet. I guess it depends on the get together. If it's people he works with and I don't know very well I tend to cling to him.

    We're pretty much loners so if we do ever go to a party/get together, we stay together and usually leave as early as we can without being rude.

    God, that sounds pathetic.

    it depends. If it's with family or his friends we split up. He doesn't feel very comfortable w/ my friends (they are really spiritual people and he is not), so he sticks next to my side pretty much the entire time.

    Just really depends - if it's maiNly his friend I'll stay with him.  If its more my friends he'll stay with me.  For my work get togethers he'll talk to a few of my close friends from work but stay with me most of the time.  DH is more social than me but it just depends on our moods.
