I'm still trying to fix my diet several weeks after DS was diagnosed with a milk and soy protein intolerance (seems to be severe -- just ordered my first batch of soy-free eggs online). I thought I've been doing well for the past 10 days, but his poop still varies a lot. Some diapers are great -- golden and just about the right consistency (melted peanut butter). But others are thinner or have some mucous in them or are greenish. Is this to be expected during the 2-3 weeks that it takes the protein to work its way out of my system and his? Or is this a sign that something I ate is still a problem? I'm just not sure whether to ride it out or keep adjusting my foods.
FWIW, pedi basically told me to lighten up and just see how he does between now and his 4 mo appointment in 2 weeks since DS is gaining well and generally seems happy. I just want to react quickly if it's a sign that he's still being bothered by something I'm eating.
Also, I've heard that mom's supplements can bother LO if s/he already has a sensitivity. So are you taking a prenatal, calcium supplement, or anything else? I have both a prenatal and a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement, but I'm not sure if I should take them.
