I love my daycare, but DD has always been the youngest member of the inhome daycare we go to- ever since she was 5 months old. they used to put her in the same room as the toddlers, because she would sleep thru. however, the last several months, they have been putting her in this seperate back room away from all noises because the other older toddlers "talk" during nap time and it disrupts DD's naptime. I get it, but DD has gotten used to a quiter space for sleeping. I am concerned because I have noticed that she isnt as flexible as she used to be and now we baby #2 on the way, she WILL have to adjust to a noisy environment. I understand about the option about getting a sound machine, but there i cant use that at daycare.
Should I just tell them to put her in the room with the other kids - and if she is tired, she will sleep and eventually get used to it? I have read other moms preparing their older kids for baby #2 by using vacuum cleaners etc. during nap time. I work, so thats not an option.
Thanks
Re: can a 18 month old still "adjust" to different sleeping environments?
Honestly- if she sleeps there a certain way I would let her. You have months to go before a new baby comes and just because she sleeps in a louder room at daycare, doesnt mean she will suddenly sleep through a new baby or not.
She will adjust when the time comes.
