Want to feel bad about yourself?

Go to the dermatologist, lol!

So since I called of treatment, I've been trying to get caught up on my other dr appts.  It was so hard to go to the PCP, etc. when I was at the RE's office all.the.time.

So I went to the derma for a mole check.  She took 3 off, including one of my behind.  Talk about humiliating.

I asked about some "old lady veins" (broken leg veins) that I have developed and maybe rejuvenating my skin.  I have a few minor acne scars from childhood, so I thought it would be nice to get it taken care of.

She referred me to their spa upstairs.  I went in this morning.  The esthetician was very nice - told me  I had nice skin, etc.  We discussed microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser treatment.  We do the photo damage picture (yuck!) and it's all good.

Then she turns to me and says "Now these treatments won't help with the wrinkles and fine lines on your forehead.  You'll need botox for those."

And I'm definitely considering it.

I'm so vain.

  • Oh I bet she just wanted more $$$ from you! Don't be too upset about it. I am sure you are just beautiful.

  • I really need to go in for a skin check, but I'm afraid I'll get the derm who's more into the cosmetic stuff and I'll leave feeling like an ugly old hag.

I'd love to fix my acne (thanks PCOS) but there's not much I can do while TTC.  And I'd hate to think about what they'd want to do with my spider veins!

After I posted this, I thought of you :).

DH kept asking me why I was going back today.  He thought I was getting waxed or something.  I finally told him "No honey, I have to ask about taking care of my old lady veins and skin."

    He shut up.

My secret?  I knew I had a bfn coming, so I had botox done for the first time on Monday.  :)  It takes 4-5 to really see a true difference & 2 weeks for it to take full effect, but so far I'm really happy with it!

  • I want botox so bad!!  I have a little wrinkle that is bothering me by my eyebrow.  Did it hurt?  I wouldn't mind my laugh lines either.  I see them sometimes when I wear make-up.  I asked DH what he thought about botox but he told me no, because he doesn't see any wrinkles. I think I may have to look into it though.

It didn't hurt at all! The "dents" between my eyes were so bad that they'd easily show up in pics. The smaller one is gone and the really bad one is almost gone now!  I have no fear of needles, but even if I did, they were so small that I don't think it would have bothered me.  We took before pics and I want to take some "during" pics in the next day or two & after pics in another week or so.  :)

  • Willis, I'm sure you are lovely.  Don't let them make you think you need Botox.

BTW, I think it's hilarious that so many people viewed a post called 'Want to feel bad about yourself'!
