NTTCR: I need help with a (Canadian? French? Wha?) word

I have heard this term 3-4 times this week. Once on the news, once from a Canadian film maker who grew up in Montreal, and once by Tim Gunn on Project Runway.
Pardon the spelling because I am doing it phonetically:
Kis kisay
Meaning? Real spelling? Google is no help. In the context I have heard it it seems to mean something similar to "what the f*ck" or some polite version of it.

It's ok! It only took a second to piece it together. Like I said, I was excited when I saw your title. I taught french for 1 year in Toronto before I moved south. I am qualified to teach it, but the demand for french teachers isn't terribly high in my neck of the woods lol!

I forget it about you as well. The only 3 ladies who I remember are Canadian are Cathy, POF, and Hopefulhoney. HH is actually from my HOMETOWN in the Maritimes. Crazy, huh? RG, remind me where you are from.

You're in Atlanta? There are several TTGPers there, huh? I'm so close, and DH and I usually go to ATL once a year.
I miss butter tarts! I tried to make them once and it was a total dissaster. I am from Toronto as well.
