Babies: 3 - 6 Months

4 months and hasn't rolled over...anyone else??

0-3 board kept seeing all the LO's rolling over at 2 months old but we are now at 4 months and still nothing.  He seems to be getting really close but on rolling over from back to tummy.  I think he is going to skip tummy to back and go right for the good stuff...lol  Just wonder if I am the only one??

  • Kieran is over 5 months and rolled for the first time yesterday.  I wouldn't worry - he'll do it when he's ready :)

  • DD will be 4 months next week- and has not really rolled over.

I really think she has no intention of ever rolling over- she will roll to her side and she rolled over once- from tummy to back. She will totally stand up (which support) and wants to be jumping all around (loves her jumperoo) she also is pretty much sitting on her own. I plan on asking the pedi next week, but I think all kids just do it when they are ready.

  • 2 months?  Huh?

DS rolled at 4.5 months and then didn't do it again for a week.  He still hasn't rolled from back to front.

  • Funny, I just posted this this AM : https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/35391016.aspx

    You are not alone!

  • DD rolled over at 8 weeks, and hasn't since. She is in a harness for her hips 23.5 hrs a day so she is definitely not rolling over.
  • DD rolled over only a week before she turned 4 months, from tummy to back. She's trying really hard to roll from back to tummy and can get her legs over but her one arm is always in the way lol.
  • DD hasn't either. Last week her pedi told me that some babies just don't want to and go on to crawl and walk  without ever rolling over. His opinion was not to worry, if everything else is good it is no big deal.
  • DS seems to have no interest in rolling over or even sitting up on his own. When we give him our finger to pull him into sitting position, he puts his feet down so he gets pulled into standing instead. i blame that one on my Mom. He loves standing. I told him he can't skip the other things in between. if he wants to stand /walk he needs to at least know how to sit on his own first.

  • DD just did a few days ago for the first time.  Now she does it multiple times a day.  But i was getting kinda anxious that it was taking her so long and she wasnt even attempting it.  Then just one day she did.
