I really want to and am going to try as hard as possible with it but am not opposed to formula if it doesn't work out - I was a formula-fed baby and I think I'm pretty fantastic

Have you breastfed previous children? Having such a bad experience with my first child I am scared to death to even try. My milk didnt come in until almost a week after her birth, she wouldnt latch, and then I got a breat infection causing me to just give up. I know its best for the baby but I am so torn between the pain and the urge to do whats best for baby.

I BFed my son for about 7 months and had to wean to go on medication. I had it pretty easy, because he took right to it. I had some pain in the first few weeks, but only when he latched. I did get thrush once, which was a pain, but we got it taken care of and it didn't come back.
This child could be completely different. I'd give it a try at least.
I'm planning on it, even though I've heard its hard. I talked to my Mom about how I was nervous about my baby girl having allergies to my kitties.. She told me that's another benefit of breast feeding... the baby will get the same antibodies that I have. I've heard to really try to do it for at least 2 weeks if you can.
the girls are, (in my case anyways), a little smaller and not quite as full afterwards. But honestly, I so don't care what the girls are like after BFing. DH is still happy and my son has been sick twice in his entire life and never bad enough to need a prescription.
I really want to. I'm going to try to get as much support as I need beforehand and after she's born so I can hopefully make it through the very rough beginning weeks and hope it gets easier.
I will pump. If I couldnt get up in the middle of the night DH could feed DS, I was able to have babysitters if needed, and I was able to see how much my little one was eating which was great because he was early and had Jaundice so I had to track how much he was eating. It doesnt matter how baby is getting breastmilk as long as he/she gets it!
I'll definitely try! I'm hoping to do it for 6-9 months; I'll need to go back on my MS drug before *too* long but I really hope to give the babies a good start.
It didnt' work out the first time with DD. I actually enjoyed FF much more...if that tells you how much I hated it. I've been told that if you have a bad experience with BF tht it kind of stick with you. SO with this one I told my DH I'm giving it 10 days and if I don't work again, that's it. I'm not going through all the trauma we did for a month. To be honest, I love the freedome of FF. But I know it's not the best. Luckily DD doesnt' seem to be any worse off from it.
Re: How many are planning on breastfeeding?
I'm going to give it a shot!!
I'm planning on it but I have friends who say they wanted to but baby didn't or they couldn't. ??
I did the 1st time around....its hard at first and sometimes tiring but its worth it. I'm going to do it again!

Definitely gonna try, and hoping to do it for at least 6 months.
I guess I am just going to be one of those horrible moms that doesnt.
I don't plan on it this time. I did for 6 months with my DS.
I BF my daughter for almost 11 months, despite lots and lots of issues. I plan to BF this baby, hopefully for as long if not longer.
My boobs look basically the same as before I got pregnant with #1.
I've heard that too, about allergies.
By the way- I noticed we share the same wedding date, so Happy Anniversary tomorrow!
Is this your first baby too?
