At what point would your RE call the cycle off?

I've never had enough to warrant thinking about it, but I had to see a new doctor at the RE today who was mildly concerned that I have four follies right now (14.1, 15, 13, 11,4, CD9). He reduced the Menopur from 2 amps to 1 amp until I go back on Thursday at which point he said they may not do IUI. We had three follies when we got pregnant with DS, so it was surprising to me to hear that he was ready to put on the breaks with four.

IMO, as many as you want to carry.

I would definately check your e2 (for instance, I had 5 "mature follies" and got a stern finger-shaking from my substitute doc about going ahead, but my e2 didn't match up, it was only 780 or something.)

I've seen 4 or 5 as the cut off. The month we hit 4 good ones I was a hot mess. Not worth the stress, IMO.

I'd just hold off and see what comes of them. You could have a lead follie and the rest slow down a bit.

My RE cancels IUI cycles with 3 or more follicles unless there is severe MFI playing into it - then he will you trigger with 3. He told me he will cancel or convert any of his patients - no matter diagnosis - if they have 4+ follicles.

My RE will not trigger and/or do IUI if you have more than 3 follies. I had my first injects cycle cancelled because I had too many follies.

We had MFI so my RE wouldn't cancel for us unless it was 4 or more. It depends on your diagnosis though.

Mine does it on a case by case basis. For me, I had 3 mature once, and he was hesitant to trigger. We did, and ...shock...bfn. I think 3 is the most I'd be comfortable with.

No MFI. It's all me, PCOS and endo.

We triggered with four. I talked and talked with the nurse about what to do and they said they would cancel after four. They said anything after four just increases the chance of multiples. I am pregnant with one baby.

I think it depends on what's wrong...age, MF, poor eggs, etc. We got the trio on a Clomid IUI with 3 mature eggs and 1 maybe. So we know my eggs are pretty good. We just did an injectable med IUI with 2 mature eggs and 1 maybe...in my case my RE would have probably called it off if I had 4 mature. Good luck!
