What do you want for Mother's Day?

With Mother's Day around the corner DH asked me what I wanted. Not quite sure...I'm one of those people who wants really random stuff (usually home related) but I'm at a loss. What I'd really like is crown molding but I don't see that happening.

What do you want for Mother's Day?

Re: What do you want for Mother's Day?

  • DH's original gift was the tickets to go see the cast of Glee perform live in LA. Now it is me, DH, DD, and my mom going to Disneyland first then my mom will watch DD while DH and I see Glee live. So excited!

  • I don't really want anything this year.  I want to go to my mom's and celebrate with my family and not have to do much of anything given that we'll have a newborn. ;)
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

  • A nice card with my son's handprint in it.  :)

  • I want new slippers.  I haven't found what I want yet, but I know I want new slippers.
  • Honestly, all I want is for my mom and MIL to not think it's a day where the "matriarch" is honored and someone (which means me) has to host a party or lunch for it. For me, it's a Hallmark holiday and I don't care and I hate having to do something. I'd really like to not have to do any of that, just go to the park with S and DH and get an ice cream after. An average Sunday would be fine with me!

totally off topic, but i just spent 4 days in sonoma. I was looking for good parks to take logan too. We usually go to the one in the square, but he found cat poop in the sand the other day and started to eat it. Where do you guys like to go?

  • I have a lot of wants lately.  Some new shoes, a camera, window treatments for the house, a new line of make up.  I'll pick one and go with it.

This reminds me why I am glad I don't live near my ILs. ;)

And to be thankful that my mom realizes that she now shares this day with me (hurray!) and her two DILs.

Having said that last year's mother's day sucked (a blazing hot day at Gilroy Garden's with all the kid's and an upset Gramma) so I'm looking for something more low key this year too.

  • I also have a lot of wants, but most of all wouldn't mind a day alone with the hubs. I miss him now that he's working so much.
  • A massage.

SOmething he does with/from the kids.

    A date he plans.

We only really celebrate mothers day and fathers day...we dont do birthdays or christmas but those 2 days are the ones we spend over our $20 limit.

  • I'm hoping to go for a facial on the Saturday before.  I'm also hoping I convince DH that I "need" the diaper bag you got!!
  • Mine won't ask, but if he did all I would want is a nice brunch, somewhere that serves momosas. Hopefully with both of our moms as well.

My mom totally pulls the ess.  She's like all huffy, "Well, I'm the REAL mother!"  Whatevs.

I say, I'm a mom, I don't plan.  Usually my brother throws a bbq so we can all be together.  Hopefully he will!  I'd love a mani/pedi or massage gift certificate or a dinner out... we'll see.

Wow, you're brave!  You WANT to go to a Mother's Day brunch?  I avoid going out for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day like the plague!
  • I'm sure my DH wont ask either, but I really just want a nice card from him and DS... and maybe a nice lunch out or something.

I always try to balance between his mom, my mom and of course myself on that day...but sometimes his mom seems to forget I am a mom too =(

  • honestly what i really want is a day to myself to do NOTHING.

    absolutely NOTHING. :)

i just want to hole up in my room (or a nice hotel room) and sleep all day with no interruptions or hang out at the pool or get a massage.

But mostly be able to sleep with no interuptions. LOL.

Then meet DH and DS for dinner.

    Pretty simple. :)

  • - a Jasper disc for my existing hayjac necklace

    - a date night that he plans

    - a day date with dh

    pretty much anything Smile

I want to sleep in.  That's all.  Just that.  Let me f'ing sleep past 5:50am.  K, thanks :)
  • DH and the kids to figure out how to host Mother's day brunch (for both of our moms and some extended family - usually 25-30 people) without me cooking all of it!

  • i want to sleep in til I feel like it & have breakfast ready when I get up along with a sparkling clean kitchen - and my kids to be in awesome moods & for DH to tell me how awesome he thinks I am. ;) maybe some flowers too.

seriously - is that too much to ask? ;)

  • I just want to be celebrated. Appreciated. A mani/pedi would be nice. I did ask for a silhouette of Jenna back in January, we'll see if he listened.
  • I want DH to HAPPILY (not grumpily) give me the whole day off. I want him to take care of E and make lunch and make dinner and do the laundry. I want him to do everything I do with a smile on his face.

i would like an uninterrupted 4 hour nap, please.

and for husband to relax about the money we're about to spend. we have it (we're not going into debt for these purchases) and we're not going to not spend it (they're necessary purchases) so chill the out about it so we can enjoy them!

    Big Smile
