not showing any (or very little) signs of labor to going into labor?

I am 38w5d with no effacement, no dilation and the baby hasn't dropped. The doctors will induce me on my EDD due to my pre-existing medical issues. But I am really hoping this baby will arrive before that. TIA! I hope to join you ladies soon!

I did not drop and had no signs of labor - 11 days before my due date my water broke at home and contractions started!

I went to the doctors at 2:00pm on Tuesday for an appt...I was still barely 1cm as I had been for 2 weeks...I started having irregular contractions with back pain that night nothing closer than 7 or 8 minutes apart. By 7 am the pain was unbearable went to L&D 4cm at 8:30am and DD was born at 1pm Wednesday

I really didn't drop until I was already in labor. I had minimal dilation that didn't change over a few weeks. I went into labor the day after my due date with I would say, very little warning.

I was 5cm and she still wasn't dropped ! As soon as I got closer she finally dropped and luckily she did because we were considering a c section!

It was a matter of hours. I went to the doctor in the morning and they told me I'd need to be induced in a few days, and that it didn't look like I was going to have this baby on my own. That afternoon I started having contractions. I went to the hospital at midnight and had my baby the next day.

(I was 41 weeks when the baby was born. I had been 2 cm dilated for two weeks, never noticed the baby "drop").

I had an appointment at exactly 37w. I was not dialated at all. We had a version scheduled for that Friday because DS was breach. I never dropped. My water broke that Friday at 3am (37w4d) and an hour later I was having contractions. DS was born via c/s at 9:36am.

I dropped some around 35 weeks and then again around 36 weeks. At my 37 week appointment I was 2cm dilated and 25% effaced and +1 station (so not really low). I stayed that way at 38 and 39 weeks. The night after my 39 week appoinment (Monday), I started to lose my MP. After that, I was mildly crampy all night. I started having random contractions the following day that became more consistent (but not painful). That night I lost the rest of my MP and had some bloody show (Tuesday). The contractions became very consistent, but still really tolerable. We went to the hospital at 3am on the advice of the OB since I had been previously dilated and had been contracting 2-3 min apart for 3+ hrs. I was admitted to the hospital at 3:45am and delivered LO at 12:09pm (Wednesday).

I went to the doctors on a Wednesday (at 40w 2d) was still at barely 1cm and no effacement. No signs of labor. I woke up at 6am on Thursday with contractions every 10-20 minutes. By 11:30am they were every 3 minutes. We went to the hospital at 1pm but I had an extremely long labor and didn't have DD until 2pm on Friday.

I dropped around 35 weeks. I had sporadic ctx's from 33 weeks on. I lost my mucous plug the night my water broke, about 6 hours prior.

I never had an internal, but I never had any labor signs...even went up to my school & hung out with my students for the day & I went into labor that night. I was 2cm & 80% in the morning & had my baby 12 hours later. After 5 cm though, my labor progressed freakishly fast!!

At my 40 weeks, 1 day appointment I was zero cm dilated and was showing no signs of labor. I had an induction date set for the following Sunday. I went into labor the following morning at 2am at 40 weeks and 2 days.

I showed no signs at 40 weeks 1 day, which is when I had my 40 week appointment and went into labor in the wee hours of the morning at 40 weeks 5 days and had him that day.

i had irregular contractions ranging from 4 minutes to 45 minutes.. i thought that was braxton hicks and when my water broke that night, i was only 1 cm and 80% effaced..

Very quick.

For 2 weeks I was closed tight my doc said.. baby still high. No progress at all. At my last appointment I was at a 2.. I had my lil boy the next evening.

I had true signs of labor and went weeks before my LO was born. I was 3cm and 90% effaced from 35 weeks and then at 37 weeks I went 4cm and 100% effaced and a week later at 38 weeks 2 days, he was born!! I did not feel contractions until I was on my way to hospital where I was 5cm dilated, so as for early signs- I guess it varies from mom to mom. Good luck to you though!

35 weeks - 1cm 50%

36 weeks - 3cm 75%

37 & 38 weeks - 3cm 80%

Got membranes stripped at 38 weeks 6 days and went into labor 12 hours later at exactly 39 weeks.

I always carried high and never "looked" like I dropped but the last week my doctor said LO was much lower and I felt a ton of pressure for that last 7 days.
