December 2010 Moms

Anyone else having weird pains?

I was wondering if anyone else was having weird twinges and quick pains in their lower abdomen?  They are mainly on my left and right side and usually are the worst when I have to pee (before the bfp I never had that).  I'm still really early so I didn't think it would be my uterus just stretching but I wanted to see if anyone else had something similar.

I'm a little paranoid since I had a mc in February---I'm convinced that every new symptom or every old symptom is a sign of things to come oye.  TIA ladies :)

Re: Anyone else having weird pains?

  • I am the as far along as you and have mainly only noticed some pms like cramps.  Very mild, but they will come and go.  That is the only thing that I have really noticed, but this is my first time pregnant, so I'm clueless to any early symptoms.  Good Luck with everything.

  • I had all sorts of strange twinges and little "shooting" pains.  They lasted on and off for a few weeks.

  • I have been having little twinges, feel like O pain, on and off since my BFP. Mostly on the lower left side. On Saturday I worked myself into a tizzy thinking for sure it was an ectopic. So I googled it, and found some obscure message board thread of 7 pages full of women saying they had the same exact pains early in the first trimester. It's ligament stretching, apparently. I figure if it was a tubal pregnancy then it would continue to get worse, not come and go. I'm sure it's nothing, but if you're worried call your doc.

Me too. Weird cramping and stretching all over my abdomen/pelvic region.

  • Thanks everyone!  Sometimes a little reassurance is nice even if you already think you know what's going on.  Cannot wait to get to the 8 week mark for the first u/s :)
  • I just went in for an appointment regarding pain I had yesterday--she said the same thing that the other posts replied.  Twinges and abdomen cramping are common during early pregnancy and that you should only be concerned if the pain is isolated in one side and increasingly more painful.  I went in and was terrified of ectopic and found out that I have an ovarian cyst that should subside on its own which is why I only had the pain on my right side.  I am sure your body is just adjusting for baby!
  • I had a lot of these pains early on. They seemed to be settling down some now, but I have no fear they will be back with a vengence!

  • I am -- all on my lower left side.  It comes and goes - it's definitely a sharp pain, but it hasn't become any worse. ::shurgs::

  • I was having some on my right side all weekend. It was pretty bad Sunday night - kept me up a couple hours. I called and got in for an u/s on Monday. I was nervous because my last pregnancy was an ectopic (though with that I had no pain, just a lot of bleeding!). They were able to see the yolk sac in the uterus and no apparent cysts or anything on the ovary so it was a relief...I'm thinking it's just normal pregnancy pains!

  • I've been worrying myself about these little pinchy cramps all day!  I'm also nervous because I had a m/c in December.  But my m/c felt nothing like this, so I don't know why I'm freaking out about it.  They aren't even that bad.  It's nice to see that there are others who are feeling similar pains, makes me feel like it's probably ok.
